FAQ

Common questions before submitting a motorcycle service request

These answers set expectations around fit, mobile service, diagnostics, larger jobs, photos, parts, quotes, deposits, and scheduling.

Do you service all motorcycles?

No. WrenchTime Cycles reviews requests before accepting them. Sport bikes and well-scoped motorcycle service jobs are the best fit. Some jobs may be declined or referred out based on bike condition, scope, location, parts availability, or risk.

Do you offer mobile motorcycle service in Grand Rapids?

Yes. WrenchTime Cycles is mobile-first and serves Grand Rapids plus nearby West Michigan areas such as Wyoming, Kentwood, Walker, Grandville, Allendale, Hudsonville, Byron Center, Holland, Zeeland, Rockford, Ada, Grand Haven, and Muskegon when the bike, job scope, access, route, weather, and parts readiness make sense.

Can you diagnose no-start issues?

Yes, selectively. WrenchTime can review sport bikes that click, crank without firing, lose spark, lose fuel delivery, have battery or charging concerns, or will not power up correctly. Intake details, photos, videos, recent parts, and symptom history help determine whether mobile diagnostics are a good fit.

Can you diagnose overheating or coolant loss?

Yes, selectively. WrenchTime can review overheating, coolant loss, bubbling overflow, fan concerns, leaks, pressure concerns, white smoke, milky oil, or hard starting after overheating. The first step is intake with photos, symptoms, and bike details.

Do you handle suspected head gasket issues?

Yes, selectively. WrenchTime can review sport bike symptoms such as overheating, coolant loss, white smoke, milky oil, bubbling coolant, low compression, hard starting after overheating, or an existing shop diagnosis. Some diagnostics may be possible mobile, while larger repairs may require drop-off, scheduled workspace, parts review, and a more detailed repair timeline.

Can you review an existing shop diagnosis or quote?

Yes. WrenchTime can review the symptoms, photos, existing diagnosis, estimate, and bike details to decide whether a second-look diagnostic or repair plan is a good fit. A request review is not a promise that the job will be accepted.

Do larger jobs require drop-off or controlled workspace?

Sometimes. Mobile service works well for many diagnostics and scoped service jobs, but larger top-end, teardown, safety-sensitive, or weather-dependent work may require drop-off, a controlled workspace, parts review, and a longer timeline.

Do I need to provide parts?

It depends on the job. Some customers provide parts, while some jobs may require WrenchTime to review or recommend parts first. Customer-supplied parts should be correct, complete, and ready before the appointment.

Do you work on scooters/cruisers/dirt bikes?

Non-sport bike work is accepted very selectively. The brand is focused on street motorcycles, especially sport bikes and Japanese motorcycles from the 1990s to present.

Do you require photos or videos before quoting?

Often, yes. Photos and videos help confirm the bike, issue, access, condition, parts, and whether the request is a good fit. Better information up front usually means clearer quotes and fewer surprises.

Is submitting a request the same as booking an appointment?

No. Submitting a request starts the review process. Scheduling is confirmed only after WrenchTime reviews the bike, issue, location, parts readiness, quote approval, deposit status, route fit, and availability.

Are requests guaranteed to be accepted?

Your request is reviewed. You may receive follow-up questions, a quote, a request for photos, or a notice that the job is not a good fit. Submitting a request does not guarantee acceptance or scheduling.

Can you do same-day service?

Sometimes, but same-day service is not guaranteed. Availability depends on the route, job type, parts readiness, weather, and existing schedule.

What if the bike cannot be repaired on-site?

If the bike cannot reasonably be repaired on-site, WrenchTime may recommend next steps, refer the job out, or suggest a different service plan depending on the situation.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancellation handling depends on timing, travel commitment, and preparation already completed. Deposits may be used as an appointment hold, travel commitment, or preparation fee depending on the job.

Have a specific bike, symptom, location, or existing diagnosis in mind? Intake is the best way to get the request reviewed.
